Toei VP Studio

In 2023, Toei selected AOTO to deliver Japan’s largest virtual production studio—the first independently operated VP facility by a Japanese film company. Officially launched in May 2025, Toei VP Studio spans 640 sqm and features 270° LED walls built with AOTO RM Series panels, along with a 105 sqm MXH Series ceiling. Designed for high-end film and television production, the studio provides a more advanced in-camera environment with strong visual fidelity, greater production flexibility, and improved workflow efficiency. It marks a major step forward in Toei’s production capabilities and sets a new benchmark for virtual production in Japan.

《Masters of the Air》Aylesbury Studios

Produced by Apple TV+ and filmed using AOTO Electronics’ XR virtual studio, the new series Masters of the Air — co-created by Steven Spielberg and Academy Award-winning actor/producer Tom Hanks — is now streaming. To authentically recreate aerial combat scenes from World War II, the production pioneered the large-scale adoption of virtual production technology. AOTO’s RM2.3 series LED screens formed an immersive XR virtual studio, providing a highly efficient and realistic filming environment for 75% of the series’ scenes.The production was completed at Aylesbury Studios in the UK, where the crew constructed two customized LED XR studios to depict both interior and exterior perspectives of fighter aircraft.

NatStudios Stage#2

AOTO Electronics has partnered with NantStudios, a leading film technology company in North America, to build and launch the world’s first Dynamic Volume System (DVS) dynamic virtual production stage — Stage #2 — in California. The project deploys 2,336 AOTO RM1.5 series LED panels, delivering ultra-high-definition image quality, outstanding stability and industry-leading system compatibility to create the original WallPods system, enabling free movement and real-time reconfiguration of the stage space.

Unlike traditional fixed-volume stages, the WallPods system offers three key advantages — omnidirectional mobility, self-balancing image stability and seamless splicing — allowing directors and cinematographers to flexibly adjust layouts and scenes with true “what you see is what you get” results. Shooting efficiency is improved by more than 30%, opening a new era of dynamic creativity in virtual production.

This solution not only breaks through long-standing challenges of high cost and high entry barriers in virtual production, but also, through lightweight deployment, low-threshold operation and a standardized architecture, provides an easily replicable solution for multiple scenarios such as virtual studios, product launches and remote conferencing, accelerating the popularization and real-world adoption of virtual production.

Prime Video & Amazon Studios in Mexico

AOTO has partnered with the famous Churubusco Studios in Mexico City to help Simplemente create the most advanced virtual production facility in Latin America. Covering an area of 800 m², the studio features a 200 m² LED wall made up of 800 RM2.3 LED panels. It offers nearly five times the resolution of a 4K screen, making it perfect for film, television, and commercial productions. As Latin America’s first large-scale virtual production studio, Simplemente’s LED stage has hosted over 3,000 high-profile projects. AOTO’s RM panels vividly recreated the 1985 Mexico City earthquake, capturing an astonishing level of realism.

Qube XR Studio, leveraging AOTO’s RM2.3 and M3.7H series, has successfully created an industry-leading virtual production platform. The studio is equipped with a 106m² LED wall, providing ultra-high-resolution background displays for filming. 36 m²ceiling screen delivers unparalleled sky visuals, while two 11.25m² lighting screens offer precise control of lighting and shadows during shoots. Notably, the M3.7H series ceiling screen features a high refresh rate of 7,680Hz, enabling more delicate and smooth imagery that restores realistic ceiling scenes and meets the demanding requirements of dynamic filming.
