Situated in the iconic Estudios Churubusco in Mexico City, Simplemente has developed one of Latin America’s most advanced virtual production facilities. Central to this immersive environment are AOTO Electronics' RM Series LED panels, which offer the performance and flexibility required for high-end virtual production.
The studio covers 800 sqm, with the LED wall spanning 200 sqm and measuring 18 meters wide by 6 meters high, with a depth of 10 meters. This setup, featuring 782 AOTO RM 2.3mm LED panels, creates a 270-degree immersive screen with a resolution of 14252 x 2582 pixels, nearly five times that of a 4K screen, making it perfect for film, television, and commercial productions.
The AOTO RM Series is engineered for demanding virtual production environments. With a 7680Hz refresh rate, 99.9% DCI-P3 color gamut, and low reflectivity, these panels ensure smooth motion and accurate color reproduction, providing filmmakers with reliable visual fidelity and flexibility to create immersive scenes.
Recently, the Amazon Prime series “Cada Minuto Cuenta” leveraged this cutting-edge setup to recreate the 1985 Mexico City earthquake with stunning realism. The series benefited from photogrammetry-based 3D models of collapsed buildings and dynamic in-camera effects, streamlining workflows and enhancing visual storytelling. With virtual production handled by Simplemente and production led by Traziende Films, the project exemplifies how this advanced technology optimizes costs while delivering cinematic excellence.
The LED stage is powered by eight Brompton Technology Tessera SX40 processors, offering precise pixel control and real-time adjustments like live color grading and frame rate changes. Brompton’s advanced processing allows filmmakers to achieve their desired visuals directly on set, significantly reducing post-production time.
As Latin America's first large-scale virtual production studio, Simplemente’s LED stage at Estudios Churubusco has attracted more than 3,000 high-profile projects, including "El Ángel Exterminador", "Liberen a Willy", and "El Crimen del Padre Amaro". Its versatility supports diverse formats, from global brand commercials to the 2024 Mexican presidential debate, broadcast to an audience of over 16 million viewers.
AOTO’s collaboration with Simplemente highlights its commitment to advancing virtual production technology and providing innovative solutions that meet the needs of modern filmmakers and content creators.
